Growth - Pleasure or Pain?

When you hear the word, growth, what do you feel? Does a rush of anticipation flow through you as if getting ready for something new or exciting, or does something inside you feel resistant to even hearing it as if it suggests an upcoming event or occurrence that could potentially be very painful. Observe your feelings carefully, whatever they may be without judgment, for they are your truest indicators and your compass, if you will, of what may be blocking your ‘perceived’ advancement. I say ‘perceived’ for we are ever changing and continuously growing, despite our best efforts at times to do otherwise.
Sometimes we may be resisting based on fears we are holding unto and other times, we may feel like we are ready to grow but for some reason, we are being ‘held in place’ or ‘trapped in the void’, and thus cannot make any forward progress. In the first scenario, our resistance to change is often due to our attempts to hold unto old energetic patterns or beliefs that are no longer healthy or beneficial for us. And often when we continually resist the growth offered to us, lo’ and behold we discover and uncover dis-harmonies and dissonances within our physical, mental, and emotional bodies. Why? Because our expansive spirits are always endeavoring to take flight towards the heavens.
The much loved and often quoted line by Anais Nin, is a particularly poignant and powerful confirmation of this: ‘And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.’ It tends to strike a special chord in all who hear it for human beings, like flowers, are created and nurtured to grow, evolve, expand, and become more than the limitations or restrictions that we, ourselves, or others try and impose upon us.
Many when they hear this quote remember a time in their lives when they, too, were resisting the growth beckoning to them. They were choosing security, safety, or the neat and tidy ‘one size fits all’ existence so that they could remain wrapped within the safety and security of their cocoons. They were unwilling to break free of their familiar comfort zones and take the step that inevitably precedes real growth - the leap of faith into the uncharted waters of life, the realm of the unknown. Their fear was keeping them locked in place until something quite dramatic, what many refer to as the ‘cosmic brick wall’, finally forced them to irrevocably break free of their self-imposed chains of bondage. They found the courage needed to reach deep within to step out of their shells and leave behind, once and for all, whatever had been holding them back. And thus they allowed the 1st petals of the bud to open. In doing so, they took their first step toward regaining and reclaiming both their power and the remembrance of themselves as forever changing, infinite beings.
And for those who still feel they are ‘being held’ or ‘prevented’ from moving forward, the following analogy may be helpful. Think of a plane on a huge aircraft carrier waiting to take off. The plane must be tethered tightly and held in place once the engine is turned on in order to ensure that it doesn’t slip or slide off causing a major disaster. The engine often runs for quite awhile before the plane actually moves or goes anywhere for it must continue to ‘rev’ until it gains the power and energy needed for takeoff. Thus, choosing the right moment for takeoff becomes the critical factor. For should the plane attempt to do so before attaining the proper momentum, instead of soaring into the skies, it would go overboard and nose dive into the ocean. And so it is with human beings – we must sometimes wait for that critical or divine moment before our new spurts of growth can occur and take flight. If we attempted to do so before we were really and truly ready, we, too, might crash and land in deep waters.
So if you feel you are still encased in the bud, whether through your own choice of continuing to hold unto some nameless fear or by a greater cosmic design, trust that you will either find your courage or be released when the timing is right. Ask for assistance or guidance for this part of your journey and then know that it will be there for you. When you are ready and give yourself permission to blossom and grow, you will most assuredly free a part of yourself that will, indeed, soar to the heavens, content nevermore to merely walk the path of the safe and secure. And having done so, you will touch the energy and magnificence of your true self and the divinity that resides within each and every one of us. With the coming of spring, the potential for new life, new beginnings, and naturally, new growth is available to us all. Remember to gift yourself with the knowingness that each day is another step of discovery on this enriching and exciting journey called life. Be grateful for the opportunities and growth it affords and enjoy the adventure that awaits!

State of the World
On Novemeber 29, 2005, Higher Source News issued a call to practitioners from around the world to tap into higher source energy and answer a question regarding the 'State of the World' to see what insight could be provided for the good of all. This was the question to be answered:
"In order to serve the highest good of all, what do
people need to know about the State of the World?"
The following is what Karn received and submitted from the
energy, Light of Divinity:
Rise above the frequencies of fear. All is being brought forth to cleanse and heal. Hold a positive frequency of not only thought but of feeling as well, for when combined, you become as unlimited beings. Seek to know and find the light in every perceived darkness for the light is always waiting ready to shine forth when someone opens a door or window. Be mindful of holding your own frequency of light and power and be the beacon of light for those who have yet to open the doors and windows of their own illumination.
Love the best you can and sow its seeds whenever possible. Remember all are playing out their roles here to the best of their abilities. Be the light you seek to find. Gather together to spark each other to a greater frequency of light than ever before known. Go within to find the Peace you seek and be the inner harbor of calm that others seek to find amidst the appearance of turmoil and change.
Know it is only the voice and face of what you perceive to be the negative polarity energies seeking to gain attention in your world now – even as the light is gaining in strength and growing brighter as each day passes. See that which is beauty in each Soul – each vibration – despite the frequencies they may be running for all are mixtures and merely at difference places on their pathways.
Remember both your vastness and connectedness when you view the earth changes around you. Hold steady within and stay on the path of oneness, wholeness and integrity. Truth rises above all appearances and shines forth the greatest light. You are loved beyond measure, beyond knowingness. Feel your divinity, feel your strength, and feel the Love of your true selves. And So It Is and So It Shall Be.

Release, Surrender, and Rebirth - July Website 2008
It seemed important to discuss this topic this month since so much was being written, channeled, and received about the ongoing energies we are in the midst of and learning to manage.
According to a very respected channeler from South Africa, it was said that this New Moon would give us the opportunity to move into the very depths of our being and confront the basis of all our illusions - which also means processing our emotions at a very intense and accelerated rate. In other words, we would be given the opportunity to see the illusionary foundations upon which we have built our lives and beliefs and finally confront our oldest and deepest fears and angers. Another source wrote that this was a time of surrender and control for in surrendering we are, in reality, only surrendering to that which is unconquerable – our beloved selves - who no matter what, continue to love us. So in essence, surrendering the ego/will really only means honoring your Soul’s passion that you came into this life to fulfill.
A very insightful astrologer also discussed that this New Moon was in Cancer, which has as its ruling planet, the Moon, which means that its energies are extremely heightened or intensified when in this placement. (The Moon reflects our innermost emotional needs and the kind of unconditional love usually depicted by the feminine Mother energies.) Since at the same time of this new moon, the asteroid, Psyche, was in Scorpio this represented old wounds that have never been able to heal. These would be wounds in relation to our sexuality, mortality, death, finances, deep intimacy and trust. However, at the time of the New Moon, since Psyche which had been retrograde was finally turning direct, this was a harbinger of the healing that could finally come. This shedding of one’s skin and rebirthing of self, therefore, meant starting a new cycle in all our closest relationships – self, family, and friendships – and finally releasing the pain we'd been carrying with us from long ago. In essence, therefore, we were, and are, being given the chance to start over and create relationships that are now based on new patterns of equality, fairness, and respect.
With that being said, it is an incredible gift we are being given this month. For those of you who have planets heavily placed in water such as Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces (this isn’t only where your Sun sign is but also pertains to where your Moon is, Ascendant, Saturn, etc.), you have probably been experiencing the aforementioned quite intensely since water signs represent emotions. And more often than not, since water ‘absorbs’, we are also absorbing the emotions of those closest to us, as well as those from the collective consciousness. In the midst of my own surrender and release shifting (I have 5 planets in water), I was reminded by more than one person to be grateful for the experience – something not always easy to do when you are right smack in the middle of the intensity. It is true, however, that, indeed, we should be extremely grateful when this occurs for amidst the breaking apart of all that was, new life is being created for what is, can, and will be. This is the greatest gift we can ever give ourselves as creative spiritual beings – to be reborn – illustrated by the Phoenix (a sign of Scorpio) who when completely consumed by the intensity of the fire energies, dies only to be reborn and take flight like the eagle (also a sign of Scorpio).
A powerful month of rebirth and rejuvenation, great change and new foundations. Be gentle with yourself and each other - real listening, without judgment, is in and of itself, a true gift.
