The Land of the Hopi

Following the guidance and vision of one of our companions, a small group of us traveled out west to see if we could meet with some of the members of the Hopi tribe.

During our time there, we were fortunate to find a great guide and meet with those who ran their Cultural Foundation.

We also had a session to exchange energies with a local healer/Medicine Man, visit the ancient petroglyphs, and lastly, meet with a group of elder women from many clans, some belonging to the Spiritual Council of their particular mesa.

We all joined together to do a short ceremony asking for prayers of light and peace to infuse us all, regardless of whether we were praying to Great Spirit, Creator, God/Goddess, or All That Is.

That exchange of energies brought many of us to tears since we felt the beauty and sincerity of the heart connection that we all shared.

As the music and energies built, the Coordinator spoke in Hopi to all gathered, which made the experience seem a little surreal, as if we were 'living' a recorded, chanted meditation. It was truly a heart-expanding and unforgettable experience.

Then on our way back, we stopped at another sacred Hopi site, the ancient Homolovi Ruins, where the energies were also electrifying. As we walked the land, we could feel the energies vibrating through us.

Between Homolovi and Sedona, we stopped at a little shop where there is probably one of the largest dream-catchers you will ever see (pictured below).

I also added a picture of a storm brewing since we had said prayers for rain during our ceremony due to the Hopi lands being dreadfully parched and desperately in need of water to help the crops grow.

It was a trip rich with blessings that will I long remember.

When I spoke a few days ago to the Hopi Elder Community Coordinator where we did the ceremony, she said that once you have connected to the land and its people, you will always remain connected and continue to be in their prayers.

To all those we met, may Peace continue to surround you and your journeys. Thank you for enriching my life.  I feel honored to have shared this wonderful exchange of energies.
